Event Statuses
Draft, Active, and Archived — what changes for organisers and guests.
Every event has a status shown as a badge on event cards and the overview.
Draft
Intent: Still planning; not necessarily "live" yet.
In practice today: Draft is mainly a label for your own organisation. You can still add guests, send invites, and let guests use the hub while the event is in Draft. Switch status in Event settings.
New events are created as Active by default.
Active
Intent: The real event you are running.
This is the normal state while planning and during the weekend. All organiser features are available.
Archived
Intent: The event is finished.
Organiser (archived)
- Event stays in your account with an Archived badge
- Cannot add or edit guests, activities, payments, photos, or posts
- Cannot record new payments or send bulk emails
- Can still view everything for reference
- Can duplicate the event as a new draft
Guest (archived)
- Guests who already joined can still open their invite link and view the guest hub in read-only mode
- They can browse itinerary, payments, photos, updates, and the guest list
- They cannot change RSVPs, upload photos, or edit contact details
- Guests who were only Invited (never joined) cannot access an archived event
Duplicate vs archive
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
| Archive | Freezes the event; keeps all data |
| Duplicate | Creates a copy as Draft with new invite tokens; RSVPs, payment status, and photos are not copied |
See Event settings for how to archive or duplicate.
